What does music created by artificial intelligence (AI) sound like? This complex audiovisual composition by Japanese composer and multimedia artist Tatsuru Arai examines the tension between collaboration and competition with AI. The artist makes use of AI to explore the relation between sound and quantum energy in a 4D space. The result moves into the extreme spectrum of what human hearing can perceive. AI offers us unprecedented (musical) possibilities but also confronts us with our own insignificance. Are we heading for a future in which the traditional composer makes way for the AI-controlled ‘über-composer’?
