Where are the boundaries between our digital twins and our physical reality? Thanks to livestreams, machine learning, 3D environment reconstruction, ever-increasing computing power, and pointclouds, everything and everyone can now be streamed constantly. This creates a real-time expanding archive to which the historians of the future will have nothing to add. The endless stream of mundane recordings lends authenticity to the extraordinary events that are streamed alongside them. But how reliable are these sources? Without noticing, we are creating an online parallel world in which controversial events such as protests tend to disappear into the background.
